SHOCKING: Popatlal Of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Has Been Sacked...
This will come as a shock to Popatlal – essayed by Shyam Pathak -- fans but the actor was recently asked to leave the show. Read on as we tell you what transpired...
A few days ago,
Shyam Pathak, who plays Popatlal in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, got into a
heated argument with producer Asit Modi, following which he was asked to leave.
Yes, believe it!
The story goes
thus. Dilip Joshi, who plays Jethalal on the popular show, recently visited
London for an event. Goes without saying, Team Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah
was informed well in advance about his upcoming commitments so that the
shooting schedule could be decided upon accordingly.
Soon after the
actor reached the city, organisers requested him to invite Shyam Pathak as well
since the Indian diaspora in London admire the duo’s cheeky banter and they
(organisers) were keen to cash in on the opportunity.
A Still From Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah
Without wasting time, Dilip called Shyam and the latter readily agreed and soon flew down to be with his co-star.
Says a source, “The two performed three stand-up acts together and were a huge hit. The crowd couldn’t get enough of their comic timing.”
However, what’s bizarre is that Pathak had not informed the makers of his absence from the show. Unaware of the situation, the production scheduled the actor’s scenes as decided, for which he obviously didn’t turn up. They tried contacting him but to no avail as his phone was unreachable.

Goes without
saying, Shyam’s unprofessional attitude infuriated the makers to no end and
producer Asit Modi asked him for an explanation. Things snowballed in no time
and a discussion soon turned into a heated argument.
Shyam was asked
to leave the show as a result of which, he had to stay at home for 4 days. It
is only when the actor apologised to Asit was he allowed to return.
Well, we are
glad Shyam has been retained. After all, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been
a family favourite for a long time now.
All’s well that
ends well.
